Kashmiri food has its ethereal charm. It’s still one of the lesser discovered cuisines and whenever we are called to try some awesome Gushtaba it makes me happy. The hotels and restaurants are upping their game this year by discovering cuisines. From melt in your mouth kebabs to scrumptious goshtaba, here is why you must try the rich Kashmiri food at Kama, Radisson Blu:

Décor: To give the perfect Kashmiri experience Radisson Blu has truly upped the décor. With little wooden shikaras on the tables, a massive pop up that sells authentic shawals and some warm Kahwah make your Kashmiri experience complete.

Food: The food here is delectable. Though there are a few misses but most food is well thought of and made to perfection.  Here are a few awesome delicacies you must try at the Kashmiri food festival at Kama. While you get some sweetened Kahwah to begin your culinary journey, here are our favourites at the food festival.

The famous walnut, radish chutney's from Kashmir

Lamb seekh kebab: Soft, yummy and delicately spiced kebabs are a must eat and the lamb seekh at Kama are perfect to begin your meal.

Chicken Kanti: The Chicken Kanti is a desi version of chilli chicken, sweetened with tomatoes and served with capsicum, it is a delight.

Mutton Marchwagan

In the mains the Wazah Murg with its succulent chicken can make your meal complete with some roti! The Marchwagan Korma is a well cooked mutton in traditional Kashmiri chilli based gravy and is great.

Paneer Methi Chaman

The vegetarian food too is great the Paneer Methi Chaman was a great hit on our table. But my favourite was the Kashmiri Dum Olur or Aloo. The slightly tangy yogurt based gravy is great and I would love to recreate it at home.

Meat Pulao
Meat Pulao

The chefs at Kama know their biryanis and rice really well. I have as some of the best pulaos and biryanis here. The Kashmiri take on Meat Pulao is absolutely smashing and worth ordering.

In desserts the Firum or Phirni was a big hit on our table.

There were some major delicacies that we love and were not that well prepared. The Tabak Maaz could be a lot better and the Shufta which is saturated in ghee did not taste like the one I have tried a couple of times before this, this might be a low cal version but it was not authentic.

However I would go back for the meat pulao and Wazah Murg for sure! Eating Kashmiri food is an art and somewhere in the turmoil in the state this food could not steal the limelight it so deserves to!
