A makeup virgin guide to cosmetics!

Buying cosmetics can be tedious and confusing for the beginners. There is a plethora of products available in the market.  A trip to one of those shiny cosmetic counters in the mall makes you feel clueless and ignorant?  Here are few things you must have for every occasion.

Compact: Compact is literally the base of the makeup, invest in a quality foundation. Choosing the correct shade is half the battle won! Too white can make you resemble a ghost and too dark can be annoying. Buy a water-resistant foundation with long-lasting natural coverage. Try Mac, Bojouris or Maybelline.

Concealer: For all those blemishes, zits and under eye circles. Always buy one tone darker from your skin tone for best coverage. Try Revlon, Mac or Lakme

Kohl: We at aaw have a love affair with deep black kohl since school days. Kajal gives that mystery and shine element to your eyes. You can use it on upper lid as well.  Try funky coloured ones, if you can carry them off. Always invest in a good kohl as cheap ones can give you eye infections. Try Lancome, Revlonor Faces for both coloured and black kohl.

Blush: A blush is perfect for the flushed look! Pick up one matte and one shimmer blush. There is no fixed rule to choose a perfect blush just pick the one that make sure that pick the colour that suits your skin tone. A rosy hued one adds healthy colour, whereas a bronze one creates a summery look. Try Body shop, MAC.

Gloss or lipstick: Lipstick or gloss enhances the look. Keep a mix of light and bright shades. Don’t go for unusual shades rather pick up shades that could be used most often. Try a moisture-rich formula so your lips don’t dry out. Try a bold red colour. Pick from any reputed brand.

Nail polish: Apart from giving a groomed look to the nails, nail polish help strengthening the surface of the nails. You can pick and choose whichever colour attracts you. Never buy the cheap, local ones they can yellow the nails. Buy a red one, black one, shimmery white one and a top coat. Try Inglot, it’s a nail polish heaven!

Nail polish remover: Don’t forget to add a vitamin E rich nail paint remover to get rid of the old and chipped nail polish.
