The 32-year-old actress and singer Priyanka Chopra has topped the top 50 list in an annual poll conducted by UK-based weekly newspaper ‘Eastern Eye’. Last year she lost to Katrina Kaif.
Popular TV actress Drashti Dhami, who had led the voting at one stage, narrowly missed out on the top spot to come in second. Fellow TV actress Sanaya Irani came third with last year’s winner, Kaif, slipping to fourth place in the race.
‘Eastern Eye’ showbiz editor Asjad Nazir, founder of the ‘Sexiest Asian’ list and chair of the judging panel, described this year’s No 1 as an “important international icon for India.”
Other Indian television actresses who made the list included Nia Sharma (7), Asha Negi (12), Shakti Mohan (13), Surbhi Jyoti (16), Hina Khan (23) and Kritika Kamra (30).
