Kangna Ranaut’s latest blockbuster Queen has all feminists cheering the average girl who take risks. We see a simpleton Kangna who deals with a broken marriage with confidence when most Indian women fail to muster. But she decides to live her childhood dream of going to Paris, even if it means going alone for her alleged honeymoon.

The movie showcases average Indian society with aplomb and every Indian can relate to it. Here are 7 things we really think Queen makes every girl learn (PS, do not read this if you haven’t seen the film, there are a few spoilers ahead):

Never judge people on their looks: Kangna looks like those kurti and jeans women who get stuck in a fashion rut along with their low self esteem. But when she meets a comparatively way to progressive Lisa Haydon she doesn’t judge that single mother based on her barely there clothes, having sex with strange men or her child born out of wedlock.

Once you look past the superficial and circumstances a person faces you can let true friendship develop.

Travel solo: Travelling solo is not about going on your honeymoon alone, it is about experiencing the freedom and responsibility like no other. Many a times both of them together provide a heady mix of adrenaline rush. Read out to know the top solo travel destinations for women in India.

Make new friends: Sometimes you do not need to know each other’s language. The deepest friendships often form when you are least expecting them to. In the film she makes friends from French to Chinese and somehow you can connect with them all without the racial profiling we all love to do.

Take risks: Taking risks means making yourself vulnerable and checking your limits at times, much like Rani (Kangna) makes spicy golgappa’s to prove Indian food is the best despite being in a country where bland food is preferred.

Believe in yourself: Never let yourself be dominated: Know that in life you will always have a choice to say no and stop. In India domination of women by their male counterparts like brothers, husbands or fathers is fairly common but once you say no to the social norm of being dominated you will stand out and be happy about the choices you make.

Once in a while do something out of character: Get drunk, runaway, kiss someone, it might be embarrassing but the thrill and learning this experience will provide you will be a lesson in itself.

Budget your vacation: We all love to travel in luxury, the best hotels, the private cabs and buses, fixed itinerary and what we come back is with a doctored vacation. But this time just book your flight or train tickets, enjoy the journey, carry minimal essentials and book simple places .Go to local haunts and not touristy ones to soak up the real culture of a place. Much like in the film, you do not see more than 2-3 landmarks of Paris and Amsterdam.
