2014 will be sneaking up sooner and in case you haven’t planned anything its time to plan now.  It has been seen that there is a rising trend of organizing parties around swimming pools. Pool party not only looks classy and elegant but also has got a touch of romance to it. The weather is also at its best, so a barbecue around swimming pool, with your favorite friends around seems a wonderful idea. As you get ready to start your pool décor for the festive season, talk to a pool specialist to add interest and entertainment to your space.

Vivek Mishra, MD, Premium Pools said “Most decorative lights are the fiber-optic light strips that do not require electricity and may be placed around the border of the pool. This is a much safer option than placing halogen lamps and eliminates the dangers of electricity around water. You may consider multiple colors of lights with fiber optic option. You may choose to line the steps leading up to the pool to increase safety, as well. Fiber-optic strip lights are virtually maintenance free and do not require changing of light bulbs.”

Floating lights are great for parties and are appropriate for above-ground or in-ground pools. Choose from colorful round or lantern style lights. They float on the surface of the pool. They are not popular if small children will be swimming because they should not be thrown in the pool. Floating lights can add to the ambiance and feel of your outdoor space.

Some handy tips:

·         Deck area should be clean with no algae deposits just in case you would want to dance

·         Kids should be looked after properly as fencing might be taken off while preparing for the decoration. This makes the presence of lifeguards and attendants all the more important

·         Fogging is the need of the hour in the city and it becomes all the more important to keep the breeding mosquitoes in check

·         Electrocution is another major hazard. Especially at this time, one should get the wiring in place. Any old underwater pool lights need to be fixed

·         One should go for the latest in the market that is fiber optic light strips to negate any chances of electrocution altogether
