Check out the first look of Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja 2025 ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi:

The spirit of Mumbai truly comes alive during Ganesh Chaturthi, and nothing embodies this festive energy better than Lalbaugcha Raja — the city’s most iconic and revered Ganesh idol. For countless devotees, the entire year is a wait for the grand reveal of Lalbaugcha Raja 2025.

Every year, thousands of devotees and tourists throng to Mumbai to witness this divine spectacle. Over the decades, Lalbaugcha Raja has come to symbolize unwavering faith, heartfelt devotion, and extraordinary artistic brilliance. This year’s unveiling has captured the imagination of millions.

The first look of Lalbaugcha Raja was unveiled on August 24, 2024, while the darshan will commence from August 27 and continue until September 6. Devotees can experience the darshan in two sacred forms — Mukh Darshan (face view) and Charan Sparsha Darshan (touching the feet). Reports suggest that over 10 lakh devotees are expected to visit each day, making it one of the largest gatherings of faith and devotion in the country.

This year, the mandap has been crafted to resemble a magnificent golden palace. Towering at 50 feet, the idol of Lalbaugcha Raja is draped in a resplendent maroon pithambar (robe). At the heart of the mandap stands the grand idol of Lord Ganesha, beautifully adorned with ornaments, fresh flowers, and a traditional crown. The backdrop and stage are richly decorated with golden embellishments, intricate carvings, and artistic lighting, creating an aura of sheer grandeur and divine majesty.

Lalbaugcha Raja resides at the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Shree Ganesh Nagar, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, Parel, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Each year during Ganesh Chaturthi, this mandal transforms into the city’s most visited and revered pandal, drawing millions of devotees to seek the blessings of the beloved Raja.
