India will celebrate its 71st Republic Day on 26th January. All over the country, people celebrate this day with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Every year this day starts with the parade ceremony, and people around the country are stuck to their TV screen to watch it. This year because of the pandemic parade is going to be quite different. Check out the details below:

Republic Day 2021 chief guest:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to the Republic Day celebrations in 2021. PM Modi invited him to be the chief guest at the Republic Day in 2021. Bolsonaro accepted the invitation with pleasure

What is different this year? 

There has been a number of spectators, the size of marching contingents, and other side attractions. The spectator size has been reduced to 25,000 from around 1.25 lakh last year. The tickets for the general public have been limited to 4,500 this year. And keeping in mind social distancing, the size of marching contingents has been reduced from 144 to 96. There will be no motorcycle stunts this year.

This year the parade will be shorter, the parade will not march up to Red Fort, instead will end at National Stadium. Tableaux will be allowed to perform at Red Fort. Among the 32 tableaux in the parade, the Union Territory of Ladakh will be participating for the first time. It will not showcase the Indian Astronomical Observatory, one of the world’s highest sites for optical, infrared, and gamma-ray telescopes

The rally got the nod from Delhi Police after farmers agreed to begin only after the completion of the official parade on Rajpath and not to venture beyond areas adjoining the protest sites. Moreover, the Delhi Police has deployed five-layer security in and around the city to maintain law and order.
