Recently Jamie’s Pizzeria By Jamie Oliver opened its first outlet in Delhi at the popular Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden. Being a foodie, I got the opportunity to get a sneak peak into the exclusive Jamies Pizzeria menu a day before its official launch.

Ambience: Situated on the third floor, the outlet has a rustic feel to it. The yellow and red chairs, interesting frames and a big wall painting adds charm to the place. There is an open kitchen so you can see your pizzas being baked. The seating is very basic with wooden tables and chairs.

Food: Starting with the appetizers the hand stretched garlic bread with a house-made sauce is far better than the regular ones, Fritto misto (a sea food platter in which fish, prawn and squid are battered, fried and served with tartar sauce) is a dish you would repeat order, mutton meatballs are full of flavours. However, the roasted tomato bruschetta is a single slice so its little difficult to eat but its so amazing that you won’t want to share it with anyone. The thin crust pizzas are baked to perfection with right amount of toppings and flavours.

Few of the must try are Margherita pizza , Spicy Meat Ball and Jamie’s super green. If you want to try something thing apart from the pizzas then baked seasonal fish in a bag is a good bet( it’s a baked fish with seasonal vegetables, don’t forget to squeeze the lemon juice as it enhances its taste. The salads are pretty average and the portion size is also small but they offer a bigger portion size too.

 Lychee spiritz

I didn’t like the drinks, both lychee spiritz and homemade ginger beer were flavourless. The beer and wine are mentioned on the menu , but they don’t have a liquor license yet for this outlet.

In the desserts the epic chocolate brownie is super moist , chocolatey and easy to finish. Trust me chocolate lovers would surely order another one. Rest of the desserts are also good but epic brownie is the star.

If with kids you can order from the children’s menu.

Service: The service is quick and the waiters are polite. The portion size is small and so are the prices, so no complaints.
Meal for two: The place is not very expensive and a meal for two would cost you within INR 1500.

Rating : I would give it 4/5 and would surely visit again.
