ITC famous restaurant The Delhi Pavilion a delectable food journey

ITC has some sparkling gems of restaurants that are famous worldwide for authentic dishes. Recently we had the chance to try a special Bengali menu at the Delhi Pavilion and it dazzled us. While most of us were new to the cuisine, in Delhi the options for a Bengali meal are limited, the other half expected only fish. But we were surprised and the dishes and there was a lot more to offer over just fish:

Service: The staff here knew the food which is a big plus, however the service could be a bit more prompt. While it could be a bad day but my previous visits have also showcased a slight slow service.

What to try: The food here is a buffet and a la cart options. While I love the haleem and can go here for a fill every now and them, the stars were the Bengali dishes.  The dessert section has too many options and is outrageously yummy.

In the Bengali starters we loved Chicken kobiraji which was yummy. The Beguni, much like eggplat pakoda we eat was super. Loved the vegetable chop, it was a patty of veggie and the most delectable starter.

Daal in Bengal acquires a whole new significance, depending on the way in which it’s cooked. From watery thin boiled daal to indulgently roasted and pampered  preparations,  its boundless variety comprises the most wholesome part  of  a  Bengali  meal.  And,  it’s  always accompanied by crispy fried assortment of veggies.

The mutton curry is a tad bit watery but the luchi mops up the juices so well we cannot complain. However, our weekly love for their haleem remains and a visit is on the cards soon.

We ended our meal with the perfect rosogulla.
