Tutorial: Poker nail art for a card party

For many of us Diwali season is synonymous with Poker or card parties every night. SO how to make a fashion statement at a Diwali card party? Remember your hands are the most important when you play and hide your cards so we at AAW decided to give you a quick poker nail art tutorial. Here’s how to get them:

You will need:

  • A base coat
  • A top coat
  • A glitter coat if you plan on making your nails shine
  • Red, black and white nail polish or nail art pen in any black, white or red
  • A nail art brush or a few toothpicks
  • Nail paint remover and ear buds
  • Cuticle cream

A steel plate or any flat surface you can pour nail polish on

How to get poker nails:

  • Apply a base coat and let it dry completely.
  • Apply two coats of white or pearl. Make sure it is completely dry before step 3.
  • Pour some black nailpaint on a small plate now with a toothpick slowly make the ace sign. Start by making 3 dots and thicken them to meet each other and add a tail in the end.
  • Now make the nail art for your ring finger by making a reverse heart with a small | in the end
  • Let both the designs dry completely.
  • For your middle and pinkie finger pour some red nail polish and use a new toothpick.
  • On the middle finger make the diamond shape, on the pinkie a heart. Let it dry completely and top with a top coat or glitter coat and clean up the sides with an ear bud dipped in remover.
  • For salon like perfection always oil your cuticles in the end.

For accent nail art:

  • An accent nail art is one in which only one finger (usually the ring finger) is adorned with nail art and looks classy.
  • To get poker accent nail
  • Apply base coat and let it dry completely.
  • Now apply a colour of your choice, red in this case, on all nails (except the ring finger)
  • Apply white on your ring finer and let it dry completely. Meanwhile apply top coat on the remaining nails.
  • Now with a toothpick make the designs intricately. Let them dry, and apply a top coat.
