A wedding is the perfect affair to brighten up a dull and boring rainy day. The fun colours, outfits and décor and make you forget about the rain lashing outside. In India the weather and stickiness can wreak havoc on makeup, so these tips help you with making sure your makeup lasts long.

During a wedding, the key feature for most is flawless make-up! And to have the best make-up, you need to take care of your skin. Always follow a good cleansing and moisturising routine with products meant for your skin type. Ensure your skin is thoroughly cleansed at least twice a day, especially at the end of the day when you need to take off your make-up. You can exfoliate once a week as well to take away any dead skin cells and blackheads. Moisturising is a must as well, sandpapery skin was never a good look! Even oily skinned beauties need to moisturise no matter how averse they are to it.

After skincare, comes the make-up! Now a bride needs to have a good base, so even though we love light BB creams and powder foundations for the monsoons, we need to go for something a bit more resilient. Waterproof foundations like MAC’s Prolongwear or Kryolan’s Dermacolor last for hours and also gives a lovely coverage to the skin.

Bright poppy tints on the cheeks are a great idea as they last super long and also look extremely natural as compared to powder blushes. Liquid highlighters are also a great idea but in this humid weather where skin tends to look oily, only use them on the cheekbones.

Eye make-up is something the Indian bride loves! We can’t have it messed up by rain, so make sure to use waterproof eye make-up. You can get waterproof gel shadows, liners and mascaras that will ensure your make-up stays and looks stunning.

Lipstick and lip gloss can be of your choice but in this weather the brighter the better. Just make sure it is a long lasting colour and if it isn’t you can try a lip primer like MAC’s Prep and Prime underneath.

Follow these steps and you’re bound look flawless and stunning for any occasion!
