But, recently, Kanta Prasad, who runs the famous eatery, filed a complaint against YouTuber Gaurav Wasan for allegedly misappropriating funds that were raised to help him and his wife Badami Devi. it was Gaurav who shot the video of the teary-eyed couple talking about the lack of customers, due to which people came to their rescue.

Kanta Prasad said in a conversation:

I don’t get a lot of customers now; most people come here to take selfies. Earlier I was earning over Rs 10,000 per day, now it’s Rs 3,000-Rs 5,000.

As per the complaint, Wasan allegedly collected a huge amount in the name of donation for the couple. He alleged that Gaurav “intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected huge amounts of donation through different modes of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant.

They have also accused him of not providing the proper financial support to them. They said they have only received a cheque of 2Lac from the YouTuber.

By far Wasan has denied the accusations against him and mentioned that he had transferred the full amount into Prasad’s account.

He said: “When I shot the video, I didn’t know it would become this big. I didn’t want people to harass Baba (Prasad) so I shared my bank details.” He even shared receipts of the transactions, all dated October 27 — two cheques of Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 2,33,000 and another of Rs 45,000.

DCP (South) Atul Kumar Thakur was quoted saying, “We received the complaint yesterday and are enquiring into it.” However, no FIR has been registered in the case.
