IndiGo crew helps woman deliver baby mid-air!

IndiGo Crew sets up a hospital in just a few minutes as women deliver baby mid-air:

People always go beyond duty and help others, and we have seen many such cases in the recent past. For example, a Mizoram MLA helped a pregnant woman deliver her baby and saved her life, or how neighbors helped deliver a woman’s baby with her gynecologist on a video call.

According to reports, a woman traveling from Delhi to Bengaluru on an IndiGo flight gave birth to a baby boy aboard. Both the mother and the baby are healthy. Also, all the flight operations were normal during the delivery.

IndiGo posted a statement: “We confirm that a baby boy was delivered prematurely on flight 6E 122 from Delhi to Bangalore. There are no further details available,” They later added, “We just got information that a baby boy was born in our flight en route 6E 122 Delhi – BLR. Flight landing at 19:40. All operations normal. Mother and child health. Congratulations to all. Kudos to your training Team First Aid.”

The woman was not yet 32 weeks into her pregnancy, that is why the airlines allowed her to fly. But she went into premature labor on board. Luckily, a senior gynecologist named Dr. Shailaja Vallabhani was present on the same flight and helped her. The flight’s crew also managed to set up a hospital within minutes, displaying exemplary teamwork, explained a Twitter user who was also present on the plane.

Another user who was on the flight also appalled the trained and helpful flight attendants. They immediately took charge of the situation and helped deliver the baby safely.

In another video, the mother and the baby get a warm welcome upon landing at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. The airline crew and ground staff can be seen clapping and cheering while holding blue posters that read, ‘Welcome to namma Bengaluru’. The mother is finally taken to the ambulance in a wheelchair

It is also said that  IndiGo airlines have announced a lifetime free flight ticket for the child.

Excellent job was done the team!
