Finally, after the announcement, the trailer of upcoming period drama Kalank starring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, and others was released yesterday. Though the trailer was appreciated by the fans it also started a meme riot on social media.
The film is directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank is set in 1940s and revolves around a story of forbidden love. The trailer is a visual treat with amazing locations and scenes. It also gives a glimpse of communal tension, Navam celebrations, dance sequences, and fighting scene.
The Kalank trailer starts with a powerful moment with a confession in Alia Bhatt’s voice she plays Roop, who confesses her quick decision ruined more than just one life, she says: “Meri gusse mein li gayi ek faisle ne… hum sabki zindagi barbaad kardi.”

The most focused scenes from the trailer are Alia’s line ‘Mere pass khone ko kuch hai nahi (I have nothing to lose)’ and a scene in which Alia is pulled in either direction by Varun and Aditya’s characters on a train.
After the trailer release, memes started flooding on the internet. Kalank teaser inspired memes particularly around Alia’s line: , ‘Humse zyaada barbaad aur koi nahi iss duniya mein and kissi aur ki barbaadi meri jeet lagti hai.
