Karan Johar’s TAKHT’s final cast revealed

Karan Johar on his birthday announced that he has decided the screenplay of his next directorial venture and now he has finally revealed the caste also. The film stars Bollywood A-listers including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Jhanvi Kapoor. Karan will be directing a full-length feature film after a gap of two years, he last helmed Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, and Anushka Sharma starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The movie Takhti revolves around the battle for the throne of the Mughal Empire. Karan wrote on Twitter: An incredible story embedded in history…An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne… A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession…TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE….,”. In the next tweet, he disclosed the cast of the film and wrote: “I am so excited and honored to announce the lead cast of #TAKHT.”

All the actors starred in the film expressed their excitement including Ranveer Singh who is already working on a Karan Johar production film, Simba. The actor said: Proud, excited & honored to be a part of KARAN JOHAR’S MULTI-STARRER HISTORICAL MAGNUM OPUS. #TAKHT,”

Alia also shared the news and wrote: “TAKHT ❤️❤️Iove you karan.. Can’t wait to get back onto set with you… this time for this historical magnum opus! So honoured to be a part of this magnificent cast. The other members of the cast also expressed the same.

Scheduled for a 2020 release, the film’s title Takht signifies the brothers fighting for the throne. The story will revolve around the three children of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz, played by Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal. The screenplay of the film is by Sumit Roy and the dialogues are written by Hussain Haidry.

Other than Takht, Karan is ready to roll out other films like Student of the Year 2, Simba, Kesari, Kalank, Brahmastra and Ranbhoomi under the banner of Dharma Productions.
