Bollywood diva Katrina kaif turned opener for designer Manish Malhotra as he showcased his latest collection Maahrumysha at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019. Manish’s new collection kick-started the week-long fashion event that has stepped into its 20th year this year.
Katrina looked stunning in a black lehenga with intricate golden work, it was accessorized with a nice necklace and a pair of studs to keep the look simple and subtle. Her look was completed with open beach waves and nude makeup that highlighted the eyes well. She posed with the designer and both were all smiles at the ramp. The lehenga was heavy and we loved how the blouse kept simple to complement it.

One of the most famous faces attending the fashion week and watching the ramp walk from the front row was Khushi Kapoor. Karan Johar, Amrita Arora, Ishan Khatter, Karishma Kapoor and Daisy Shah also attended the event.

The show consisted of a massive collection of textures, embellishments, and fabrics. A mix of Indian, as well as western silhouettes, was seen, the collection was rendered in fabrics like cotton, silk, wool, velvet and tulle. Designed for lighter to destination weddings, the collection included lehengas, gowns, shararas, sarees, crop top and skirts for the women and the men layered bandhgalas, jackets, kurtas and trousers.

The color palette included classic chromes of white, ivory, beige, ochre, grey, salmon and the signature gold of the label.
Talking about the collection, Malhotra said: “The collection is inspired by beauty, Beauty which is above all. We had to create something which was big, larger than life. And I’m happy that I’m able to do it.”
