Akshay Kumar’s production ‘Fugly’ has inally hit the screens. Check out the review of the film which created  a lot of buzz much before its release.

Cast: Mohit Marwah, Kiara Advani, Arfi Lamba, Vijender Singh and Jimmy Sheirgill

Director: Kabir Sadanand

Story: The story is about  Dev (Mohit Marwah), Gaurav (Vijender Singh), Aditya (Arfi Lamba) and Devi (Kiara Advani), who are best of friends and together they enjoy  and live their life. But things take a turn after an evil policeman Chautala (Jimmy Shergill) comes into the picture and their moral values and friendship are put to an unexpected test.

Music:  Themusic of the film is composed by  Yo Yo Honey Singh & Raftaar. The lyrics too written by Yo Yo Honey Singh and  Raftaar. The song Ye Fugly Fugly Kya Hai’ is a catchy number is a catchy number and is a hit. The song Dhup Chik by Raftaar is also a catchy number.  Overall the album is amix of both highs and lows.

Why to watch: The movie marks the debut of Mohit Marwah who is the cousin of Bollywood actors Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor and Vijender Singh , an Olympic boxer.  The movie shows the shocking reality of the administration system of our nation and numerous other social issues like gay-prostitution and excess of television journalism.

Why to miss:  You can easily give it a miss because the screenplay is dull and the actors’ performances are below par. At few places you might feel disconnected with the film as it suffers from mood swings. Some scenes will surely remind you of Rang De Basanti but no point comparing as they are not even close to it.  The movie is unrealistic and exaggerated at few points.

Special mention: A special mention about Jimmy Sheirgill performance in the film. Undoubtedly he is the only one who has acted well  in the film.

Rating: 2.5/5
