The Shaukeens
The Shaukeens

The  recreation of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 classic Shaukeen that starred a powerful cast comprising of  Ashok Kumar, Utapal Dutt, AK Hangal, Rati Agnihotri and Mithun Chakraborty gets a new age remix. Check out the review of the all new The Shaukeens which stars Akshay Kumar:

Cast: Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra, Lisa Haydon, Akshay Kumar

Director: Abhishek Sharma

Story: The story is about three three old men KD, Lali and Pinki. They plan a trip to Mauritius and in Mauritius the trio stay with a young fashion designer Ahana (Lisa Haydon). Ahana, a huge Akshay Kumar fan, is nursing a broken heart.

Akshay Kumar (playing himself), is an alcoholic superstar desperately wanting to win the National Award. He is stuck between a Bengali director who gives him tips on method-acting. Akshay Kumar comes to Mauritius for a shoot and Ahana falls in love with him. To know who gets whom at the end watch The Shaukeens.

Music: The music of the film is composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh, Arko Mukherjee, Hard Kaur & Vikram Negi. Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Alcoholic, Arko’s soulful Teri Meharbani and Honey Singh and Neha Kakkar’s Manali Trance are already quite popular. Aashiq Mizaaj is also a fun number by Hard Kaur.

Why to watch The Shaukeens: Director Abhishek Sharma has done a wonderful work so watch out the film for its hilarious dialogues, beautiful locations, wonderful acting skills of Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor and Piyush Mishra , sexy Lisa Haydon and good screenplay. The movie doesn’t get cheap or vulgar at any point.

Special mention: Cameos by Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Suniel Shetty are few other highlights of the film. Also the fun act by Akshay Kumar as the superstar!
