Tapsee Pannu’s Thappad is making people cry and they call it a heart ricking film:
Since the trailer of the film Thappad was released online, it created quite a stir. Many people were waiting for the film to release and the movie has seen growth over the weekend. Celebrities and audiences have been praising the film. While some call it brilliant others called it heart-wrenching tale. Tapsee Pannu’s film is one of the most important movies of the generation.
As the title suggests, the film is about a slap. A slap that a good husband lands on his wife’s face in a moment of anger. In his defense, it happened for the first time and because he was betrayed on the professional front. For his wife, no defense can justify the slap. It changed her life.
“Pata hai uss Thappad se kya hua..uss ek Thappad se naa mujhe who saari unfair cheezein saaf saaf dikhne lag gayi jisko main andekha karke move karti jaa rahi thi”: this dialog makes a lot of things clear.
The film is not about domestic violence, it is about entitlement. It is about gender patriarchy, it is about the outdated thinking of the society. The film also describes stories of two other women who suffer from disrespect in their lives by their partners. Thappad is about a woman reviving her sense of self, contemplating what is fair and what isn’t. It gives a social message that women must take their stand.
The film is a sure shot hit for us as it has the best dialogs, they will make you think and they can lead to change. The director has also done a great job.
