Expert Review: October 2013 Vellvette Box

October 2013 Vellvette Box,
October 2013 Vellvette Box,

My partner in crime (my best friend) suggested me to subscribe to Vellvette bag and on her egging I opted for three months subscription. Last month I received my bag very late and by that time I was pretty much aware of the products in the polka dot anniversary bag.

Blue being the favourite colour of most women including me, this month’s theme was blue and tagged as KISS (Keep It short Simple and Sexy)– let’s keep it simple yet sexy excited me! I was eagerly waiting for my second bag which arrived two days back. While opening it I was super delighted and anxious to see the products.

How it works: You get a Vellvette Box about the third week of a month after you place your order. I ordered for a three-month cash on delivery membership which is currently up for renewal. While ordering you are supposed to fill an extensive questionnaire about your skin type, love for makeup etc. This helps Vellvette customize the box especially for you.

You can order them online at www.vellvette.com

Claims: According to their fan page, Velvette is your opportunity to discover the best beauty brands at your doorstep. Receive 3 customized luxury beauty & cosmetics samples every month that are handpicked by our experts for you. Plus if you like a product, you can get fabulous discounts by purchasing the full sized products at Vellvette.com

Packing: The products were bubble wrapped in a blue toiletry travel bag. On opening there were leaflets about the products and a small note.

Products received: I received a Vantiv Moisturizing Shampoo, Vantiv Cool Water Shower Gel, Sally Hansen Miracle Cure, Florelle True Khol pencil- Blue

Vantiv Moisturizing Shampoo: It’s a moisturising shampoo with a nice fragrance and creamy texture but after using it didn’t find any difference in my hair.

Vantiv Cool Water Shower Gel: The shower gel is full size 180 ml and the lemony fragrance is very refreshing. It’s a good body wash for summers. And in October mosturising gel or body wash would be better than this.

Sally Hansen Miracle Cure: I was thinking about buying this product to improve my weak nails but luckily I got it in my Vellvette bag. As claimed I have been using it from last three days but haven’t noticed any change in my nails. Maybe it takes time so lets wait and watch.

Florelle True Khol pencil in Blue: I am not very comfortable using pencil liners and kajal so didn’t find it much interesting.

Pros: I liked this month bag because of two full size products and the Sally Hansen miracle cure which I was planning to buy.

Cons: The makeup freak in me wanted more makeup products. Plus, the Vantiv products seem low-end cosmetic products and don’t do justice to the bag

Price: INR 499/ month and INR 1099 for 3 months. You can also go for an annual subscription which would cost you INR 3600.

Rating: 4.5/5 (.5 less for lack of makeup that I mentioned on my form)
