CANNES: 5 reasons Aishwarya’s Day 2 look failed

Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, after stunning everyone in her gold Cavalli gown, let down our fashion hopes on her second appearance. Aishwarya opted for a white fishtail (again) Roberto Cavalli gown (again!) for her second red carpet appearance at the Cannes film festival.

Aishwarya Rai attended “The Search” Premiere at the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.

Here are a few reasons this look failed to impress:

High expectations: After her gold Cavalli appearance the world media and fashionistas were waiting for her to take the mantle higher with a new look. The expectations were high, as it was after ages that Ash nailed a look.

Repetitive: Her silver Roberto Cavalli gown had a major resemblance to the gold one. The fish tail cut, the beaded bodice and the pattern all reminded us of the gold one. In fact this looked like a sadder cousin of that gown. We think it was a bad move to wear a same designer and similar gown all in the space of 24 hours.

Ice maiden: The silver white might sound pretty but it makes Aishwarya look ice maiden-ish cold. The colour looks cold and offers no warmth to her personality.

Pales her: Silver white works well with a healthy tanned skin. Aishwarya’s fair skin colour looked almost the same colour as her gown. Maybe a healthier tan would have helped the gown, this made her look pale.

Wrong hair & makeup: Along with gown her make-up had a hint of blue, heavily lined eyes and soft loose curls framed her face. But this dress begged for a sleeker updo, smokey eyes and bold lips to make the gown pop. Her neutral makeup also adds a bland effect to the look.
