Previously nannies were a huge part of the lives of royal children but now if reports are to be believed Kate and William will be doing things very differently from previous generations.

The couple is said to have broken the tradition of a formal nanny (or many nannies) and are planning to be hands on parents. The couple has advertised for a housekeeper to help with multiple household chores and not for a royal nanny.

Duchess Kate gave birth to the couple’s first child, a son, at a London hospital and she plans to spend the first six weeks of the baby’s life at her parents’ mansion.
