Check on your weight and diet- Wedding shopping is exciting but in this excitement don’t ignore your exercise and dieting regimen. During shopping the temptation of fast food and street food will always lure you but remember you don’t wish upon not fitting into your beautiful lengha!

Don’t experiment: As a bride everyone wants to look stunning on the D-day but never get persuaded by ads and stick to your brand.  Avoid using new products as they might cause allergic reactions like rashes and pimples. It has happened with many bride-to-be’s they get lured and buy new brands and develop allergic reactions.

Make a check list: Check lists help avoid confusion, chaos and duplication of efforts. Always take a shopping list whenever you go trousseau shopping. In fact make food list, sagan list, gift to be given list, every list you make will simplify your work and effort.

Spend time with your family: We know that you will be multi-tasting to the hilt but do spare sometime for you loved ones. Your parents will already be feeling emotionally vulnerable at this time go for a weekend getaway. These memories will always be cherished.
Take advice from married couples– A person learns from his mistakes, so rather than reading articles from different books and magazines, talk to married couples and take their suggestions and advise for a happy married life.  Ask them to share their experiences and mistakes and learn from them.
Don’t indulge in useless shopping: It is easy to over shop in this pre-wedding excitement. Don’t waste your money on useless things. After marriage there will be gifts from your parents on all occasions.

Take cooking classes– It’s said that a way to man’s heart goes through his stomach. Take some cooking sessions to impress your new family with your culinary skills. Learn the all important halwa to avoid getting embarrassed on the first day cooking ritual.

Try your outfits beforehand- Don’t blindly rely on your tailor, try all outfits beforehand to make sure all clothes fit perfectly. It is best to get your clothes at least 10-15 days prior to the functions.

Pack your bags accordingly- Pack your bags according to the next occasion and situation. Keep your saris and suits properly in sari bags to avoid creases. Make a separate overnight bag containing your nightwear, toiletries and a traditional attire for the after marriage rituals. Make a separate bag for your honeymoon as you won’t have the time to unpack and repack all the clothes!
