Yoga, dieting, gymming, swimming, tried it all? Well, some people have weird ways and tricks which they claim help weight loss. Like Riddhima Seghal sips hot water infused with cinnamon powder to lose weight. Here are some weird ways that might help you lose those extra kilos:

Mirror, mirror on the wall: A study from Arizona University and Erasmus University Rotterdam found that watching yourself eat can make you consume less. In their experiments, the researchers placed participants in front of mirror and they consumed lesser food. The researchers say this happens as we cannot watch ourselves hog! You can also try eating naked in front of the mirror (Psst: many models do this to avoid eating).

Sniff vanilla: Is your love for kuch meetha ruining your diet? Then buying vanilla or chocolate scented soaps, perfumes and moisturisers may help. Every time you feel hungry smell that divine vanilla perfume and have a glass of cold water.

Don’t eat in loose clothes: While eating in comfortable clothes wouldn’t make you fat, it is the loose clothes like pyjamas and salwars that lead to over eating. This happens because baggy clothes make you look slimmer and you don’t think about calories. Also adjustable elastic waists allow you to tuck in more food. While many people say you must not wear super tight denims while eating but fitted clothes really tell you when to stop.

Start social networking: Do you often delete 10 photos before deciding on one (which makes you look thin) to add to your facebook profile? Researchers say that social networking like facebook or twitter can help you lose weight because you will always be in the pressure to look good (and thin) in photos tagged by other people.

Male friends help weight loss: Eat your meals in front of men as a study says women tend to consume less in front of men. Reason? Researchers from Indiana University, Pennsylvania say it’s because we become more aware of our gender and restrict eating to appear feminine. Whereas men eat more to appear masculine!

Pay cash for food: Every time you go to restaurant use cash, as a study says your credit card might be making you fat. This is because we splash our card when eating out, but sticking to the cash in your pocket may make you order less and eat less. The same applies to when you are buying your rations.
