Review: Lovely Omelette Corner, Mussoorie

Lovely Omelette Corner, Mussoorie is a MUST visit

Cheese Omelette

Sunday ho ya Monday Mussorrie me khao andey….

All good things come in small packages and Lovely Omelette Corner is one such shop. This tiny shop on the mall road is the oldest omelette shop in town and offers some delicious basic egg preparations. The owner himself is humble man and has maintained the same taste since ages. I was impressed with the way he folded his hands and requested me to wait as there were others in the queue.

Food:  As the name suggests this small joint offers some lovely omelettes. The USP is that the egg doesn’t smell and is cooked well with a bread slice cooked inside the omelette.

The cheese omelette with bread, onion and green chillies is fantastic and out of the world. The unique flavour the melting cheese is heavenly. Go on a cold morning or a rainy day and you will understand why people love his omelettes! The cheese omelette is prepared in oil and there is a particular one made in lots of yellow butter. If you are not the omelette kinds have a boiled or half fried but trust us you will surely miss something. It’s a desi joint so don’t expect too much from this place just sit and savor omelette. This small joint is always packed so keep some spare time as you might have to even wait for an hour. We waited for an hour! Some packed drinks like milk shakes, cold drinks and juices are also available besides piping hot tea and coffee.

Price: The place is very cheap and won’t be heavy on the pocket.

Meal for Two: 150 INR

Ambiance: Nothing to talk about the ambiance as its small shop with a table and benches around. It can accommodate around 10 people at a time. So if you are in hurry better get it packed though the real yummiest lies in sitting there and having it. The walls are filled with awards and reviews from all over.

Must Try:  As it specializes in omlettes so you can ask them to customize it too. But if here don’t miss their cheese omelette, the cheese inside simply melts in the mouth. In winters you can also ask for chocolate omelette, which I hope to try!
