PM Modi performs Bhumi Pujan Rituals in Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen dressed in golden colored Dhoti kurta for the Bhumi Pujan of Ram temple that is to be constructed in Ayodhya. He offered his prayers in Hanuman Garhi temple which was his first stop as he was greeted by the priest of the temple.

PM also planted a Parijat sapling in front of the foundation of Ram temple as it is considered divine. See the pictures from Bhumi Pujan here.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the holy city of Ayodhya today for the momentous foundation laying ceremony of Ram temple. Dressed in a golden-coloured traditional dhoti kurta, the prime minister’s first stop was the 10th-century Hanuman Garhi temple wherein he offered special prayers. PM Modi was presented with a headgear, silver ‘mukut’ and a stole by Sri Gaddinsheen Premdas Maharaj, head priest of 10th-century Hanuman Garhi Temple. PM Modi then went on to offer prayers to Ram Lalla and performed ‘sashtang pranam’ (prostration) at Ram Janmabhoomi. The prime minister planted a Parijat sapling, considered a divine plant, ahead of foundation stone-laying of Ram temple.
