Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua was officially declared the Miss Universe 2023 during a lavish event at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador, on November 19. Miss Universe 2022, R’Bonney Gabriel from the USA, presented the crown to Sheynnis on stage, receiving applause from the enthusiastic audience. Thailand, Australia and Nicaragua entered the top 3 list.

In the 72nd edition of the Miss Universe pageant, participants from 84 countries and territories vied for the crown. The event was hosted by American television personality Jeannie Mai and former Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo, and American television presenter Maria Menounos.

Shweta Sharda, 23, secured her spot in the Miss Universe 2023 semifinals on Sunday, after clinching the Miss Diva Universe 2023 title in August this year. She represented India and has advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious competition.

In the final round, Ms Paldacios was asked who she would choose to spend a day in the life of, she chose the 18th-century British philosopher and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft who she said broke boundaries and “gave an opportunity to many women.” “There are no limitations for women today,” she added, via a translator.

At the age of 23, Sheynnis Palacios, a television host and model, expressed her emotions on Instagram hours before the final. She shared a heartfelt message about realizing a childhood dream by participating in this global competition.
