This is why toner is a part of my skincare routine

These benefits will convince you to add a toner to your skincare routine.

Having suitable skin care is important and though there are many products in the market, some basic must-haves are all that you need for an effective routine. CTM (cleansing, toning, moisturizing) is a basic skincare routine that many people follow but over the years, beauty regimes have become a little more complex.

If you too are confused about which product to add to your skincare regime, make sure to pick the ones that suit your skin type and definitely do not miss out on toners.

Toners are one of the few skincare products that have been around for the longest time and you can find good quality ones easily in an affordable price range. If you have been contemplating, here are some reasons I picked toner to be a part of my skincare routine and how it has been helping me so far.

  • Minimizes the pores

It is a common misconception that toner can physically shrink the pores but that is not true. Although, it does affect the appearance by making them visibly smaller. This is particularly beneficial for people with oily skin as a toner can help remove dirt and impurities.

  • Keeps skins’ pH balance intact

It is important to maintain the pH of your skin as it keeps bacteria from growing and even moderates skin’s oil production.

  • Aids function of moisturizers

Toners work as a primer when used before moisturizers. This helps your moisturizer to penetrate properly into the skin thus keeping your skin hydrated for longer.

  • Great way to refresh your skin

Sometimes when you are out in a hot and humid environment, it may not be possible to cleanse or wash your face. In this case, keeping a toner handy will refresh your skin and is a great way to cool it off.

Here are some reasons why I picked toner to be a part of my skincare routine. Make sure to pick a toner that suits your skin’s needs. Read the ingredient list carefully and make sure it does not contain alcohol as it would dehydrate your skin.
