Jhanvi wears her Mom’s saree to accept Sridevi’s national award
Jhanvi Kapoor surely loves her mother and today when Sridevi was conferred the National Award. as her daughter she dutifully dressed in her saree to receive it. Bittersweet moment! What makes us more teary eyed is that Jhanvi looks just like Sridevi with similar makeup.
Jhanvi attended 65th National Film Awards with her dad, Boney Kapoor and sister Khushi in New Delhi. The family went to receive her Mother’s Best Actress prize for the movie MOM. Jhanvi wore a pink and white kanjeevaram saree, which was worn by Sridevi at actor Ram Charan’s wedding in 2013 and she looked very elegant in the same. Designer Manish Malhotra on Thursday revealed that Jhanvi wore Sridevi’s saree for “this emotional and valuable moment.”
This picture proves that Jhanvi is really Sridevi’s reflection. Sridevi wore it with a sleeveless blouse, a necklace and matching earrings but, but Jhanvi wore it with slight changes, like a cropped sleeves blouse with simple jhumkis as her only accessory.
Manish Malhotra posted this:
The award ceremony was held in Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan, Khushi too wore a Manish Malhotra outfit, a raw silk lehenga with benarasi border paired with duppataand choli.
Sridevi won the Best Actress National Award retrospectively for her role in MOM. After the event, Boney Kapoor said: “It is a very proud moment for all us. At the same time, a sad moment. We wish she was here with us. She truly deserves it and she has been around for almost 50 years and done almost 300 films (MOM was her 300th film). She has always given her best to all her films. Finally, unfortunately, after she has left, that she has been awarded this honour,” reports a news agency.
While there is quite a furor as many winners skipped the ceremony as President Kovind refused to give awards to all winners.
