Kangana to be granted Y category security

Actress Kangana Ranaut to be provided with Y category security:

One week after actress Kangana Ranaut expressed her lack of faith in the Mumbai police and urged the Centre and the Himachal Pradesh government to provide her personal security, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has granted her Y-category security. The actress will not be protected by a Personal security officer and 11 armed policemen including commandos.

The decision follows a “renewed threat to the actor after she spoke about drug use among a section in the film industry following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput”, sources said.

Kangana thanked Home Minister Amit Shah for ensuring her personal safety.

She wrote, “This is a testimony to the fact that no nationalist voice can be suppressed by any fascist. I am grateful to Amit Shah ji. If he wanted, then he would have instead advised me to fly to Mumbai on a later date. But, he had the grace to protect the daughter of India and safeguard her pride and respect. Jai Hind. “

Earlier the actress also stated that she was scared of the Mumbai police more than she feared the movie mafia goons. She had urged the Centre and the State government to provide her security, She wrote, “I am actually more scared of Mumbai police now than movie mafia goons, in Mumbai I would need security either from the HP government or directly from the Centre, No Mumbai police please.”

Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had asked actress Kangana Ranaut to not to travel back to Mumbai after she had expressed fear stating that the city police force was more threatening to her than the ‘movie mafia’.

The outspoken actor accused Sena leaders like Sanjay Raut of threatening her and remarked “why is Mumbai feeling like Pakistan-occupied- Kashmir”

Kangana has recently accused city officials of having “forcefully taken over my office… (and) harassing my neighbours”.  She posted a video on Twitter and wrote:  They have forcefully taken over my office… measuring everything, also harassing my neighbours when they retorted… BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) officials used language like, ‘What that Madame has done… everybody will have to bear the brunt’,”

This certain move by the BJP-led Centre has intensified politics as the 33-year-old actor faces sharp attacks from Maharashtra’s ruling Shiv Sena over her comments on the handling of the Sushant Singh Rajput case. The Sena and the BJP ended their long-term alliance last year over government formation in Maharashtra.

Sena MLA Pratap Saranik said the actor should be arrested for sedition and that “if she comes here then our brave women will not leave without slapping her”.
