Movie Review: Bewakoofiyaan

Bewakoofiyaan
Bewakoofiyaan

Another rom-com from the Yash Raj stable which has no romance or comedy as it key features. Bewakoofiyan, has a few funny moments and good performances, but sadly, it has no major story to tell. The film has the age old story a girl loves a boy who is not very qualified up to the standards expected from his father in law.

Here’s how we found the movie:

Rating:  2/5

Cast: Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor

Director: Nupur Asthana

Story: The film revolves around ambitious airline executive Mohit Chaddha (Ayushmann Khurrana) who gets sacked just as his glamourous girl friend Myra (Sonam Kapoor) talks abut their marriage to her dad (Rishi Kapoor). This plot explores joblessness, gender expectations, and rocky relationships.

V K Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor) is an about-to-retire senior Dilli babu who has the habit (much like many Dilliwallas) of throwing ‘big’ names. He treats his daughter Myra like a small kid who isn’t capable of knowing whom she should marry. The fellow has to prove himself.

Music: Bewakoofiyaan has a few average tracks and Gulcharrey being the most popular one. The music by Raghu Dixit offers nothing new and is passable. O Heeriye sung by Ayushmann Khurrana for his album last year os his solo number for the film.

Why you should watch Bewakoofiyaan: The only reason we found was Rishi Kapoor’s impeccable acting. We loved the way he plays a doting and nosy father.

Why you can miss Bewakoofiyaan: A story which refuses to move, infact its not a story. Bad acting by Sonam, her fabled and much publicised bikini act is a three second one! ‘Bewakoofiyaan’ spends most of its time but sadly there is no story in glamour!
