Boss

Akshay Kumar’s action-packed masala flick releases today on Eid. Akshay Kumar after the dud Once upon a time in Mumbai Doobara is all set to get back to his favourite action movies. The film has catchy music and Akshay has promoted the film really well. Let’s see if it is worth a watch:

Our Rating: 1.5/5

Starring: Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Shiv Pandit , Ronit Roy,  Aditi Rao Hydari, Johnny Lever, Danny Denzongpa, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjai Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, Parikshit Sahni

Music: The music of the film is composed by  Meet Bros Anjjan, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Chirantan Bhatt and P. A. Deepak. Honey Singh’s song Party All Night  has become a popular dance track.  The track, Hum Na Tode is an adapted version of the immensely popular Tamil song, Apdi Pode Pode’. The other tracks are also good.

Story: Like most action flicks Boss as no solid storyline. The story revolves around action packed sequences and has its interesting moments. But Khiladi Akshay can’t save Boss. The story revolves around Satyakant (Mithun Chakraborty) who kills a teenager by chance and his eldest son, Boss (Akshay Kumar), takes the blame. He’ gets jailed and serves his term. After he is released Boss moves to another city. Meanwhile, Boss’s younger son, ends up in trouble by bashing up Home Minister’s son who was harassing a top cop’s sister.

Why you should go for Boss: Don’t go with many expectations. But Akshay surely unleashes his star power to the fullest. Flattering dialogues and solid action make it perfect masala flick.

Why you should miss Boss: Over-the-top melodramatic (inspired by South Indian flicks) sequences. The romantic track between Shiv Pandit and Aditi Rao Hydari was not needed. Boss is a noisy flick watch of you love action or skip this headache inducing action flick.

Special mention: The dance tracks starring Sonakshi and Akshay are full of energy. Secondly a special mention to Akki’s favourite line “Boss is always right”.
