PM Modi applauds “Coolie No.1” team for going plastic-free

PM Narendra Modi applauds Coolie No.1 team as they go plastic-free:

A few days ago, Varun Dhawan made an important announcement that the sets of “Coolie No.1” will be going plastic-free and that the team will now use steel bottles to consume water instead of plastic ones. And this initiative of them got special attention from PM Modi.

Varun Dhawan shared a picture of the team and announced: “Being a plastic-free nation is the need of the hour and great initiative taken by our prime minister and we can all do this by making small changes. The sets of #CoolieNo1 will now only use steel bottles. @PMOIndia.” With this initiative, ‘Coolie No.1’ turned the first plastic-free Bollywood film set.

Today, PM Modi appraised the film’s team to take up to this initiative in making India free from plastic. He replied to the actor’s post and wrote: Superb gesture by the team of #CoolieNo1! Happy to see the film world contributing to freeing India from single-use plastic.”

We believe if all of us take such small steps, we can make our country go plastic-free.

The team’s decision was made after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to stop using single plastic and encourages usage of jute and cloth bags to protect the world in his Independence Speech.

“Coolie No.1” is directed by David Dhawan, the film features Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, and Paresh Rawal. The movie is slated to release on 1st May 2020.
