Veteran actor Satish Shah, one of Indian television’s most cherished comedic talents, passed away on October 25 in Mumbai at the age of 74. The actor, who had been battling kidney-related complications and underwent a transplant a few months ago, breathed his last on Saturday afternoon.
His last rites were held in Bandra, where close friends, colleagues, and admirers from across the entertainment industry gathered to bid him a heartfelt farewell. A deeply emotional moment from the ceremony has gone viral, capturing the cast of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai singing the sitcom’s iconic theme song beside his pyre — a fitting tribute to the man who brought laughter into countless homes.

Other members of the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai family — Deven Bhojani and producer JD Majethia — joined in paying their final respects, standing together to honour their long-time colleague and friend. Several prominent faces from film and television, including Neil Nitin Mukesh, were also present at the Vile Parle crematorium, underscoring the deep affection and respect Shah inspired across generations of the entertainment world.
