Raid your kitchen for shiny, dewy skin that spells newly married bliss! Every bride wants to look glamorous on her special day and so begins the tryst with all those expensive creams (which will not be used later) and torturing long beauty sessions at salons all for dewy glowing skin.

There are thousands of products that claim to give you whiter and brighter skin. Even during the pre-bridal sessions, salons try to cajole you into buying those expensive creams and get treatments done but the best, non-side effect way is to go natural and feel the change. Throw away all those chemical-crammed, expensive products and follow the traditional, tried-and-tested and natural treatments for radiance on the D-day without burning a hole in the pocket. Here are a few of them:

Urad Dal and Curd

Grind urad dal and make a fine powder. Mix it with hung curd. Apply it all over your face and let it dry. Do not scrub. Use it for thrice a week to get rid of acne and pimples. Ideal for oily skin.

Mustard Seeds

Roast mustard seeds in a pan till they start popping. Grind and make a fine powder. Add yogurt to make a thick paste. Apply it all over your body and scrub to remove tan and dirt.  Don’t use any soap. Rub your body properly with a towel.

Orange

Dry orange peel in a shaded area (under indirect sunlight) and grind it. Before applying mix un-boiled milk. Make a fine paste. Apply it all over your face and neck. Wash it off and feel your absolutely smooth and oil free skin!

Honey and Banana

Make a mixture of 2 tablespoons of honey and one banana. Apply it on your face and neck. Wash it off after 15 minutes. This facemask is a great a moisturizer and helps tighten the skin.

Papaya

Use papaya skin on your face. Just rub and let it dry. Once it is dry, wash your face with cold water, wipe dry. This will give you the much needed ‘wedding glow’.

Tomato

After coming back from your trousseau shopping, apply tomato juice on the exposed area to remove tan instantly.

Gramflour and Yogurt

Mix two tablespoons of besan, half tablespoon of yogurt, pinch of turmeric and few drops of mustard oil to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on your face and neck. After five minutes just scrub it off with soft hands for a soft and smooth skin.

Cucumber

Cucumber is the best ingredient for an oily skin. Apply the juice on your face and leave it to dry. Wash with water and pat dry. It helps refresh, tighten your skin and also makes it glow.

Sandalwood and Rose Water                            

Mix sandalwood powder with few drop of rose water to make a smooth paste. Apply it evenly on your face and neck and leave it to dry. Wash with water and see the difference.
