Ramon Lamba, talks to about being a life and business coach:

1. What exactly does a life coach do?
As a life coach, I can help you live a powerful life, a life out of choice and not out of chance.

‘Life Coaching is a profession that is profoundly different from consulting, mentoring, advice, therapy, or counseling. The coaching process addresses specific personal projects, business successes, general conditions and transitions in the client’s personal life, relationships or profession by examining what is going on right now, discovering what your obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make your life be what you want it to be.

Life Coaching is a designed alliance between coach and client where the coaching relationship continually gives all the power back to you, the client. We believe that you know the answers to every question or challenge you may have in your life, even if those answers appear to be obscured, concealed or hidden inside. You, the client, are the only expert in your entire life who truly knows who you are and what you need. You are the only expert who can recognize what is absolutely best for you. We are simply experts in the coaching process. As your coach, we help you discover what your own personal “best” might be.

2. And as business coach, how can you help women?
As a business coach, i always have an winning edge over woman, because it gives them the idea of the strength and ability of woman, being a woman myself, its easy for me to connect with all their challenging stories, feel the pain of all the drama and trauma they are dealing with, and it becomes easy for me to empower them with all the tools i have available.

3.Often Indian women underestimate themselves. Do you think this mindset can be changed? If Yes, how?
Yes, indian woman definitely underestimate themselves, because ever since they are born, its rubbed into them that woman are lesser than men in India, its more of a cultural belief than reality. so woman in India grow up believing that they are lesser. but under a series of coaching session, i help them unwind their limiting beliefs about themselves and they actually get in touch with their own potential . the very fact that even GOD chose woman to bear a child, or give life to a human being inside her body is enough proof of a woman’s strength.

4. Lack of confidence is common in today’s girls, How can one instill self confidence?
Self confidence is actually a lack of self belief and lack of self love. So when we begin to operate from a mentality of non comparison and begin to focus on who we are and what we are, we automatically begin to develop self confidence. its a way of being, and to get to that way of being we need to drop comparing ourselves to others and believe that each one of us is a unique being, living on tis planet to express our own truth, that we are born for.its about identifying your own strengths within you, and not wanting to be like someone else.

5. Some quick tips to manage our lives better?
To make our lives better, the key ingredients we need to add in our life is patience, assertive and positive thinking, acceptance, kindness, love, empathy, and getting in touch within oneself to identify who we are, because when we really understand who we are, we begin to understand people around us. to make life better, its always powerful to operate from a space of allowance and acceptance than resistance.

6. Stress often is seen as a major issue that leads to many troubles. How do you help people de-stress?
Stress is more of a  symptom that arises when we fight situations and people and want them to be another way. but the fact is, that situations are just the way they are, when we fight a situation or a person, we loose the ability to be emotionally intelligent, and we begin reacting, however, we always have a choice to deal with stress more intelligently, exercising, deep breathing, meditating are quick fix tools to help you handle stress, and then once your mind is calmed down, you begin to deal with the situation more intelligently, and results show up.

7.  In today’s world people often judge a book by its cover (our appearances matter more than ever). Do you think this too has become a reason for many of of our troubles and how can we overcome them?
Judgement, is the biggest crime a human being can do on another human being. and yes definitely we must over come this. because it keeps people stuck on the cover of the book and we miss out on the quality of the content. every human being on this planet has something special within themselves, and to overcome this judgement mentality, its important to focus on the good stuff, every person, is a product of his or her circumstances, and we have no clue what their journey has been all about, every person is dealing with their own share of hurt, pain and trauma and drama. we are human beings on an experience of our own life, if we can create this understanding, then automatically we create a non-judgmental attitude, and acceptance comes in. however we always have a choice, that if we don’t like someone, we can gently and kindly move away,

8.As the president for Women cell what all issues have you tackled?
The major issue, that I have come across in India as a woman’s cells president is child abuse . especially in the beginning of the first 10 years of a girls life, and this is done by close family members, educating the male in India is very very critical, because their pleasure leads to a life time damage of the victim , physically, emotionally and mentally and only 1% people come out and speak up. this is an issue that needs to be addressed on a public platform and public awareness is very very important.

9.Many Indian women are slowly ‘modernizing’ according to the environment and this has increased our abuse of alcohol and other recreational drugs. Do you think this will pose a threat in the future?
Yes, definitely, this new cultural fad will pose a threat in every sense. we must not forget that we live in a country like India where the cultural values are rubbed into us. its always intelligent to create a balance, in our mindsets between Indian and western culture. that is the a major reason for divorce rates, and woman being single. its important to respect the human body given to us,

10. How can we as women help other women?
As a woman, we can always help other woman, because we are more sensitive to feel their pain and all that they are going through. Its important to be there for them as a friend and guide when they need them, rather than feel jealous and hatred. a woman has the strength and ability of 10 men, if she really identifies her potential, so as woman if we can remind other woman of our strengths all the time, instead of focusing on our weakness, i think it will help woman deal with all that they are going through.
