How green tea can be a part of your skincare routine

Thinking of throwing used green tea bags away? Think again.

There is more than one way to use green tea for your benefit. While consuming green tea can be great for your health, you can use it for the benefit of your skin as well.

You can make most of your money spent on green tea by making skincare products out of it. It does not require too many pieces of equipment or ingredients and can be stored for a considerable time.

Here are a few ways to assimilate green tea in your skincare routine:

Make a toner using green tea

You can easily make a green tea toner at home by adding the tea bag into boiling water and letting it steep. You can also add essential oils to this toner for added benefits. Use this toner once or twice a day to see a difference. A green tea toner helps tighten pores, reduces inflammation and promotes elasticity.

Use green tea leaves as a face mask

Save the used green tea bags for later and apply them directly over your face as a mask. Add honey to green tea leaves and mix evenly. Apply the mask on your face and wash it off after 10-15 mins. It makes your skin softer and radiant.

Make a scrub out of green tea

You can easily make a scrub at home using green tea leaves. Add brown or white sugar granules to green tea leaves along with virgin olive oil and essential oil as per your choice. Scrubbing can help remove dead skin cells and increases blood circulation.

Use green tea water for steam

Add green tea leaves to steaming water and leave it for 1-2 mins. Hold your face over the steaming green tea water for 5-10 mins. Remember to be careful while dealing with boiling water. Taking steam will help remove impurities from your face and the antioxidants present in green tea have their own benefits.

Here is how you can add green tea to your skincare products. Making masks, scrubs, and toner using green tea at home will not only help you reap its benefits but will also save you a lot of money.
