Cyclonic storm Yaas formed in Bengal and Odisha made the states a high alert area.
Cyclone Yaas has made its way into Dhamra Port and Balasore near the Odisha coast and West Bengal Jharkhand were also put on high alert. More than 12 lakh people were evacuated from the cyclone-prone region and restrictions on movement was also placed.
Cyclone rescue and relief columns were also deployed and people shared pictures of the havoc wreaked due to the cyclone. Here are the visuals:
