After Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar resign, memes trend with #MaharashtraPoliticalDrama:
A few hours after the Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered a floor test in the Maharashtra assembly the very next day, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar resigned as chief minister respectively. Rebel NCP leader Pawar resigned just three days after he took oath citing personal reasons, while Fadnavis tendered his resignation a few hours later after addressing a press conference.
Fadnavis said: “We do not have a majority after Ajit Pawar’s resignation,” while announcing his intent to resign. “We realized we don’t have the numbers and we don’t want to indulge in horse-trading.”
After this, many people trolled politicians across the party on Twitter for their attempts at government formation and shared jokes about things and events that lasted longer.

The floor test is to be held before 5 pm on Wednesday, and its proceedings will be telecast live. The court also expressed concern that the elected MLAs have not been administered oath even though “a month has elapsed since the declaration of election results.”
