Yesterday, the trailer of Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film Kabir Singh was released and since then people have taken to Twitter to share memes and jokes about his character. The movie is a Hindi remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy, about an alcoholic doctor whose life change after his bitter breakup and he turns mad after that.
Fans did not spare anything, they have jokes about literally everything from Shahid’s rugged look to some of the film’s unnatural drug scenes and violence. Shahid has talked about how deeply the role affected him, he used to smoke dozens of cigarettes daily. One user compared his dedication to that of Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
From the trailer, the most popular line was: ‘Nahi aunga matlab nahi aunga, bola na nahi aunga’ for meme makers. They used it in many contexts to create memes.

At the trailer launch of the film Shahid said: To me, watching a film like Kabir Singh will help understand that when you allow yourself to be affected by those things, it can take you on the path of destruction. It can warn you from going in that route. For people who might’ve been there, it can be therapeutic. Cinema acts as a medicine. If you see something you relate to, it helps you have catharsis of sorts.” The film is set to release on 21st June and it stars Kiara Advani as well.
