Ramdev launched Ayurvedic medicine “Coronil” to treat Covid-19

Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali  has launched Aryuvedic medicine “Coronil” to treat coronavirus: 

Finally, good news today! In a great achievement in the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic, Patanjali has finally launched the first and foremost evidence-based Ayurvedic medicine. It is named Coronil, the drug can be used for the treatment of COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The Ayurvedic medicine that claims to cure COVID-19 within 14 days was launched at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

Launching a kit of three Ayurvedic medicines, Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Patanjali, jointly addressed the media to share ‘the major breakthrough’ in cure of COVID-19.

Baba Ramdev had revealed that COVID-19 patients who were given Coronil – which is made from a mixture of Ashwagandha, Giloy, and Tulsi – showed a 100 percent recovery rate.

Balkrishna claimed that an Ayurvedic medicine developed by the company has been able to cure coronavirus19. 

“We conducted a clinical study of 100 patients. Around 65 percent of them returned negative test results within three days,” Ramdev said.

Ramdev claimed that Patanjali has followed “all scientific rules” in developing this ayurvedic medicine to treat Covid-19 patients.

Balkrishna also said that: “We appointed a team of scientists after COVID-19 outbreak. Firstly, the simulation was done and compounds were identified which can fight the virus and stop its spread in the body. Then, we conducted a clinical case study on hundreds of positive patients and we have got 100 percent favorable results,”

He further added: “After taking our medicine, COVID patients recovered in 5-14 days and then tested negative. So, we can say the cure for COVID is possible through Ayurveda. We are performing controlled clinical trials only. In the next 4-5 days, evidence and data will be released by us,”. 

Patanjali’s anti-COVID tablet, called the Divya Coronil Tablet, consists of Giloy, Tulsi, and Ashwagandha and is prescribed to be taken thrice a day with hot water 30 minutes after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other medicines include Divya Swasari Vati, Patanjali Giloy Ghan Vati, Patanjali Ashwagandha Capsule, or Divya Ashwagandha Ghanvati: Patanjali Tulsi Ghanvati and Divya Anu Taila & Divya Swasari Vati. 

Baba Ramdev claims that the medicine will be available in stores throughout the country by next week and they are also launching a home delivery application. 

The launch of this ayurvedic drug has come when more than 100 candidate vaccines are at various stages of development across the world. We hope one works. 

Well, after the launch of the drug, The AYUSH ministry stopped Ramdev’s firm from advertising or selling Coronil drugs and asked Patanjali to furnish proof of its claims. After the ministry’s order, social media was full of memes and reactions.
