Why you need a weighted blanket!

The weighted blanket of your dreams, literally!

I heard of a weighted blanket a few months back during a TV series and color me intrigued, it seemed like a firangi concept. One which sounded really nice as the blanket will not roll under me during my tossing and turning which is a constant issue since I am a light sleeper. Finally saw they were available and India and grabbed one at the first opportunity and here are a few pros the weighted blanket offers:

Relieves anxiety: I have anxiety most of days due to my super busy schedule while I am not clinically diagnosed as an anxious person, the bouts do kick in every few days and that often affects my sleep pattern. But after using this blanket that feeling of weight kind of makes me feel warm, secure, and hugged by a close one which relieves the feeling of anxiety! A big win if you ask me!
Better and deeper sleep:  While we all do have decreased hours to sleep especially due to life becoming normal and post the whole WFH most of us are still not able to cope with early mornings and sleeping early at night, but when you take the weighted blanket it relaxes your body, stabilises heart rate plus they use deep pressure stimulation that increases melatonin, known as the sleep hormone.

Decreases pain:  We all tend to suffer from a few pains, women especially have lower back issues however this blanket is proven to decrease most muscle pain including arthritis. As the gentle pressure from a 15lb weighted blanket eased their symptoms.

Boost overall mood:  Apparently studies say they are a mood booster too! While this could also be because of restful sleep but apparently the pressure of a weighted blanket, it increases oxytocin, the feel-good hormone and when combined with decreased cortisol it improves your overall mood.
