Why I hate New Year Resolutions

Here’s why you need to detox from resolutions!

No New Year resolutions

Every year, I take some goddamned unachievable resolutions on the 1st of January only to break those weeks later. I have never ever crossed a few months too! All this started in school when my teacher told us that you turn into a new leaf with resolutions and at that point the resolutions were simple. “Complete my homework, study for 2 hours!”

However, as I grew up the need to have better resolutions started. From weight loss, to exercising more, to reducing screen time for myself and the kid, I have always kept the most unachievable frustrating wish list naming it as resolutions!

Every hung-over 1st January we all get our wish lists ready. From healthier eating to doing our homework on time, only to feel frustrated as we break them in a few days! This New Year I have decided not to keep any resolutions and be easy on myself. And instead of feeling like a failure, I feel better!

A resolve is something well thought off and often we do things we really want to and 1 January has nothing to do with our determination. In fact, New Year’s resolutions are a foolish idea, it’s like an excuse knowing you will fail sooner or later. It has a lot to do with our immensely hue expectations from ourselves!

So this year go slow on these resolutions, enjoy the festivities around and grab that slice of chocolate cake!
