This is how plant-based diet affects dementia in women

Here is how a plant-based diet can determine women’s health.

A plant-based diet has many benefits and it was recently discovered that women who are in the post-menopausal phase have low chances of developing cardiovascular issues and dementia if they consume a plant-based diet.

This study was published in the Journal of the American Heart Association and it was observed that women who consumed enough plant proteins were at low risk of developing heart problems, sudden death, and dying of dementia.

The data was collected when 100,000 women participated in the study with ages between 50 to 79. A questionnaire was given to them to understand their typical diet and their consumption of meat eggs poultry and plant-based protein like legumes, tofu, peas, etc.

The number of deaths that occurred due to dementia, cardiac issues, and cancer determined how diet plays role in determining the cause of death.

Women who consumed a plant-based diet were shown to have a 9 percent lower risk from the previously mentioned causes.

The study was conducted over the years and showed that women who consume a sufficient amount of plant-based protein and followed such a diet have a lower risk of dying from dementia and heart diseases.

It is best to find balance and take a good look at your diet to make sure you live a healthy life. Try to consume unprocessed meat in moderation and include more plant-based food items in your diet.
