Coronavirus in Delhi: Ways to stay safe from it

World Health Organization has declared coronavirus a pandemic. The government is asking people to stay calm and visit the doctor if they see any symptoms. The virus is spreading really fast. In India there has been a total of 77 cases, the virus has hit the parts of Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. Maharashtra has the second-highest number of cases (12) in the country after Kerala.

Are you worried? Well, instead of panic and feat take some important steps to prevent the infection. Here is the list of things to do to stay safe from coronavirus:

  • Wash your hands

Wash your hands with alcohol-based sanitizers and then with soap to kill all the germs on your hands. Wash your hands at least 4-5 times a day.

  • Avoid touching nose, eyes, and mouth

Touching multiple places can pick up the viruses. Once contaminated, they can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. It can spread across the body.

  • Maintain social distance

Maintain a minimum 3 feet distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Whenever we cough or sneeze small liquid particles come out of the mouth or nose which may contain the virus. In case you have a cough or cold, cover your mouth while coughing.

  • If you experience fever, cough or difficulty breathing seek medical help asap

If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing then seek medical attention in advance. Stay home if you feel unwell. This will protect you and help prevent the spread of viruses.

Being around someone who is suffering from coughing, sneezing and difficulty breathing is not a concern until you are in close contact with them. It takes about 25-27 days to show the symptoms of coronavirus. So stay safe!
