There are numerous benefits of turmeric (haldi), it is known to be one of the most beneficial Indian spices. When we catch a cold or flu, we often hear our parents suggesting to drink haldi wala doodh or add it in water. Well, I recently realized the importance of turmeric when I wasn’t feeling well and had a sore throat. In Ayurvedic terms, the qualities of turmeric are hot, light, and dry, and it has a bitter taste. It’s an anti-inflammatory and a blood tonic. Doctors and experts are claiming that everyone must consume turmeric during these times and otherwise as well. So here are some ways to include turmeric in your diet:

Bring one cup of milk to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of turmeric. Turn it off and let it cool for a few minutes. Consume it at night to have a good night’s sleep.

Roast some vegetables like capsicum, onion, cauliflower, potatoes, corns, and root vegetables and add turmeric to it. This will give it a warm and peppery flavor.
