Right food for an energetic you this summer!

Diet for an energetic you in summers

During summers we all feel fatigued and tired. Usually the summer heat is to blame but our diet can also play a major role in making us feel lethargic. So if you eat right you will feel energetic and light.

Here is what to eat to feel active and  beat the heat too:

Fluids are important: It is advisable to increase the intake of liquids like Nariyal pani, Sugarcane juice, Lassi, chaach, fruit juice, vegetable juice and lemon water as this will reduce your thirst.

Avoid spice: Prefer boiled vegetable and sprouts. Avoid taking too spicy food because natural and less cooked food helps maintain energy levels.

Fruity fun: Fruits like watermelon, muskmelon, pineapple, chickoo, papaya, pomegranate and mango are the best fruits to be consumed in the season.

Avoid fast food: Stay away from fast foods and greasy, oily food during summers as they heat the thermal system of your body and make you feel lethargic.

The summer diet plan you must follow:

Early morning: A glass of lemon juice with 2 teaspoon honey or plain lemon juice.

Breakfast: Lassi or chhach with some seasonal fruits

Lunch: Divide your lunch into 50% salad, 25% vegetables and 20% sprouts along with one or two chapattis.

Snack: Munch on fruits or have a glass of fruit juice.

Dinner: Keep it same as lunch but try and avoid chapattis (try one piece of idly).

Post dinner avoid: Any type of cold drinks, lemon juice, fruit juices, lassi, etc as they are harmful for health after dinner. If you have this habit change it as it is not good for any season.
