When it comes to junk food cravings it is hard to control and we end up having something. Junk food has no value and contains a lot of sugar, saturated fat, and salt. Too much junk food is harmful and can cause some diseases. For food like me resisting lip-smacking junk food such as pizza, burgers, noodles, momos are very difficult. So I decided to follow some tips and eliminated junk food from my diet. Here is the list of some tips to eliminate junk food from your diet:

  • Make healthier swaps

Switch from processed to fresh food. Cutting out junk food doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it. You just have to make healthier swaps. For example swap chocolate with a nut bar, a packet of chips with popcorn.

  • Buy less junk food

When you have junk food in your house, there are higher chances that you will eat them so avoid buying them in the first place. Go for fruits instead of packaged foods.

  • Stay hydrated

Most of the time we mistake our thirst for hunger. So next time when you think you are hungry between meals, pause and drink some water first. This is because thirst signals to the brain are usually very weak, and can be misinterpreted as hunger.

  • Curb your sugar cravings with healthy options

Refined sugar has zero nutritional value and causes the insulin levels in your body to increase. So try to replace your sugar cravings with healthier options. Like homemade truffle balls.

  • Go for intermittent fasting

Try to do 16 hours of intermittent fasting a few times a week. as it gives our digestive system a healthy break. Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern, where you do eating and fasting. It also helps blood sugar levels, improves brain function, and kills harmful cell growth.

  • Start your day right

A nutritious breakfast will stop you from craving unhealthy foods for the rest of the day. Eat something healthy like porridge, an omelet, baked beans, a smoothie, peanut butter on whole-grain toast or yogurt.
