Over the weekend Team AAW was invited for the review of a newly opened outlet Sense of Spirit at the popular sector 29 of Gurgaon, a place which is flooded with restaurants , bars and lounges. From Pind Balluchi to Warehouse Cafe to Molecule Air Bar, almost all popular restaurants are there in this market. Located above Warehouse , Sense of Spirits is a sister concern of White Waters at Connaught Place.
Ambiance: The place is divided into two sections one for family dinning which has wooden tables and chairs while the other half is for groups with bigger tables and sofas . According to the manger Mr Nirmal, people normally come in a group so they have created the section keeping in mind the group culture. Since Mr junior(my son) was also accompanying us for the review so we opted for a lounge area ie the group seating area. The place is dimly lit but has large windows with wooden blinds that give the lounge area lots of sunlight. There is nothing extraordinary about the decor except the fall ceiling with lights which lifts the overall feel of the place.

Food: The menu has mix of Continental, Lebanese, Chinese and North Indian. We started our food tasting journey with appetizers and ordered a Non-veg Mezze platter which was good except the Mutton Kibbe were a bit hard, the Classic Chicken Nachos were simply superb, the Chilly Fish was soft but not very spicy, Sangam Kebabs with layers of both mutton and chicken together in one dish were a little dry. The Lakhnawi Galouti were little spicy but very soft, the Cheese Parcels were very delicious and loaded with cheese. The Pudina Kaju Tikki was very new to me , it was crispy from outside but very soft inside. Mr Nirmal suggested us to try the Anardana Paneer Tikka which I didn’t like much as it was very sweet. Since we were already so full so we just ordered a Meat Lover pizza which was a total turn down and so was Chicken Veracruzbecause as the chicken was very chewy and the Spanish rice along with it had a desi flavour.

Drinks: The place hasn’t got the liquor license so we had no liquor options so we ordered some mocktails. The watermelon fresco with watermelon pieces, the aampanna mojito and my sweet babe which is pomegranate juice infused basil and lime were very refreshing and perfect for a summer afternoon. On the other hand the shakes were very average.

For the desserts we ordered Baklava but it has been discontinued, Basbousa(coconut and semolina cake topped with coconut colorful powder and our all time favourite brownie with ice cream. The Basbousa is a must have for those who love coconut flavour. The brownie was fresh and very moist.

Service: The service is very quick and manager knows how to handle its customers well.

Price: The place is not over priced and the meal for two would cost you INR 2000
.
Ratings: I would give it 3/5 and would go once it gets its bar license to try out their cocktails as the management claims itself to be the budding largest cocktail bar .But I feel, they need to up their game a bit to the competition in the market as even during the lunch hours the place was empty unlike other outlets in the vicinity.
