The National Film Awards ceremony happened in Delhi on Tuesday and pictures from the prestigious ceremony are doing rounds on social media. President Droupadi Murmu conferred the awards to the winners, including Best Actor winners Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon.
The 69th National Film Awards, which honors films censored in the year 2021, was announced in August by filmmaker Ketan Mehta who headed the 11-member jury.
Madhavan’s directorial debut biographical drama “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” claimed the Best Feature Film award, while the National Film Award for Best Director was bestowed upon Nikhil Mahajan for the Marathi film “Godavari.” Sanjay Leela Bhansali received the National Award for Best Editing for his work on “Gangubai Kathiawadi.”
Pankaj Tripathi, who shared the screen with Kriti Sanon in “Mimi,” was honored with the Best Supporting Actor accolade. The title of Best Supporting Actress was awarded to Pallavi Joshi for her role in “The Kashmir Files.”

The Telugu rendition of the multilingual movie “RRR” received the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award. “The Kashmir Files,” directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, was honored with the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration.

Waheeda welled up with tears as President Droupadi Murmu presented her with India’s most prestigious film award. During her acceptance speech, she expressed, “I am deeply honored and incredibly humbled. My journey to where I stand today is a testament to the wonderful film industry I’ve been a part of. Fortunately, I had the chance to collaborate with renowned directors, producers, filmmakers, technicians, and music directors who wholeheartedly supported me and bestowed upon me immense love and respect.”
